A mine exploded near the coast of Odesa
A sea mine exploded near the coast of Odesa. Residents of the city heard a powerful explosion.
An anti-ship mine was carried by the sea to one of Odesa’s beaches, the Defense Forces of the South reported.
Due to stormy weather, the mine was thrown ashore, where it exploded.
There were no casualties, because in the area where the explosion occurred, there was a restriction on people’s access to the beach area. Damage information is being updated.
The military was reminded that the mine danger in the sea is very high. From time to time, waves throw such dangerous “surprises” to the coast, which pose a serious threat to life and health.
Earlier, the USM reported that a drifting sea mine was found in the Black Sea a few kilometers from the coast of Romania.
