A passenger terminal can be built near the “Orlivka-Isaccea” crossing
A passenger terminal can be built near the Orlivka-Isaccea ferry crossing on the Danube.
They want to revive passenger transportation on the Danube. The terminal near the Orlivka-Isakcha crossing could facilitate movement between Ukrainian cities, or connect Ukraine and Romania for passengers.
However, the implementation of the initiative to build the terminal is possible only after the end of the war with Russia. One of the initiators and investors of the “Orlivka-Isaccea” crossing, entrepreneur Yuriy Dimchoglo, told about this in an interview with CTS.
“After the end of the war, we want to build a passenger terminal in Orlivka. We see a perspective in the revival of passenger transport on the Danube. It can be transportation only on the Ukrainian part — from Reni to Vylkovo via Orlivka, Izmail and Kilia — or international passenger transportation between Ukraine and Romania. From Orlivka, it is very convenient to reach the Romanian cities on the Danube, such as Isaccia, Tulcea, Galați and Breila,” commented Dimcoglo.
Previously, USM reported that the river terminal, which opened a few months ago near the ferry crossing “Orlivka-Isaccea”, has already processed about 60,000 tons of cargo . The first ship arrived at the terminal in early December.
