A port is being built in Vinnytsia, which should connect the center of Ukraine with the ports of Great Odesa
A dry port is being built in the Vinnytsia community, which should connect the central regions of Ukraine and the ports of Great Odesa.
It will be a railway terminal that will improve operational transportation and cargo handling, Vinnytsia Deputy Mayor Андрій ОчеретнийAndrii Ocheretnyi said.
The port will help connect the central regions of Ukraine with the ports of Great Odesa, as well as with the EU countries through the Mostysk container terminal.
At the first stage of the works, the railway infrastructure and the first container yard with a capacity of ≈30 thousand TEU/year will be built.
The capacity of the container warehouse, which will also be built in the first stage, is 2,000 TEU.
The amount of private investment in the object is more than 15 million dollars. The works have already started this year — part of the railway tracks, the weighing system, as well as a warehouse of 3.5 thousand m2 are already ready.
The dry port is planned to be commissioned in the 3rd quarter of this year. By the end of the year, about 50 people will be employed here, and they are currently looking for machine operators. In total, 100 jobs are planned to be created at the facility.
Previously, USM reported that another container line would be launched at the “Mostyska” terminal. The third platform at the “Mostyska” container terminal (Mostyska Dry Port) will provide additional operational capabilities and increase the terminal’s cargo turnover.
