A quarrel over grain: Poland summoned the Ukrainian ambassador

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland invited the Ambassador of Ukraine to the residence because of the latest statements in Kyiv.

It will be recalled that the head of the Bureau of International Policy of the President of Poland, Marcin Pshidach, commenting on the restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grain, in particular to Poland, said that “we should start appreciating the role that Poland has played for Ukraine in recent months and years.”

Shortly after this statement, the deputy head of the president’s office, Andrii Sybiga, wrote on Facebook that such words of the Polish politician are manipulative and impose the opinion on Polish society that Ukraine does not seem to appreciate Poland’s support in the fight against Russian aggression.

Yesterday, August 1, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the summons of the Polish ambassador to Kyiv, Bartos Tsihotskyi. The reason for the challenge was the statements of Marcin Pshydach regarding Ukraine.

In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland invited the ambassador of Ukraine to the residence.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that in connection with the statements of representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland has been invited to the residence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the ministry said in a short message on Twitter.
