A Russian ship carrying stolen Ukrainian grain was not accepted at the port of Egypt

The bulk carrier Zaid under the Russian flag was not accepted in the port of Alexandria, after which the ship headed for Turkey.

This was reported by  Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Peacemaker Center.

The vessel Zaid (IMO:9715270) under the Russian flag with 35-36 thousand tons of wheat loaded in occupied Sevastopol at the Avlit terminal was not accepted in Alexandria, and now the ship has entered Turkey.

“Zaid left Alexandria for Iskenderun on April 2, and the next day the President of Egypt announced that his country would no longer accept grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, which is exported by Russia. But we will see whether they will keep their word in the future,” Kateryna Yaresko noted.

The bulk carrier Zaid (IMO:9715270) is also included in the register of violating vessels on the Defense Intelligence of the MoD  War&Sanctions portal.

As previously reported by USM, at the end of March 2026, the Russian ship “Grumant” (IMO:9385879) with stolen Ukrainian grain was also not accepted at the Turkish port.
