A soldier who passed intelligence about the port of Odesa to the enemy will be tried

The serviceman had pro-Russian views and also passed on intelligence about the Defense Forces and infrastructure facilities to the enemy.
The indictment was sent to court, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the resident of the Kherson region decided to cooperate with the enemy and made a deal with a representative of the illegal armed formation of the so-called “DPR”.
In particular, he passed on information about civilian objects that could be of interest to the invaders, including civilian vessels in the port of Odesa or shops where servicemen often visit. He confirmed all this with geolocation tags.
“The enemy ordered from him data on the personnel of military units, checkpoints, places of ammunition storage, repair of military equipment, addresses of military registration and enlistment offices and hospitals in various cities of Ukraine,” the report says.
To carry out these tasks, the traitor decided to mobilize to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the late summer of 2024. After a couple of months, realizing that he could be exposed, the soldier voluntarily left his unit, but continued to work for the enemy.
The defendant is currently detained and is under arrest. He is accused of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As previously reported by USM, the SBU detained a woman who was planning a terrorist attack near the port of Odesa.
