A tanker was detained in Belgium for transporting Russian oil
The tanker Galatia was detained in the Belgian port of Antwerp. The ship probably violated sanctions by transshipping Russian oil.
The vessel was detained by the decision of the local authorities. According to CTS , the tanker was used in the scheme of transshipment of Russian hydrocarbons from ship to ship in the open sea.
There is also a version that the ship was part of the “shadow” tanker fleet of the Indian company Gatik Ship Management and in January-February entered Russian ports three times. In particular, twice to the port of Primorska and once to the port of Ust-Luga.
In total, the ship loaded more than 132,000 oil products, indicating that it was going to deliver them to Argentina and the UAE.
