A tanker was set on fire in the Gulf of Finland

The Alexia tanker was set fire in the morning of September 22 in the Gulf of Finland, en route from Russia to Turkey.

As of the morning of September 23, the tanker was still in the bay. According to the SAR Control Centers of Finland and Estonia, the fire was extinguished and there were no casualties.

However, the tanker is not able to continue the voyage on its own after the fire. Alexia is now drifting surrounded by a pair of rescue vessels from Finland and Estonia, Fleetmon writes.
