The trawler “Captain Lobanov” caught fire in the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. One person died, four were injured.

One person died and four others were injured during a fire on board the small fishing trawler “Captain Lobanov” in the Kaliningrad region, rosZMI reports.

The fire broke out “as a result of an emergency situation on board”, said Dmytro Lyskov, the head of the press service of the regional government. He stated that the trawler has not sunk – it is being towed to the port.

Telegram channels claim that the ship sank near the city of Pionerskyi. It is reported that the fire on board the trawler was preceded by an explosion, the causes of which are unknown. According to the media, there was only a crew of seven people on the ship, two of them went missing.

USM previously reported that a container ship overturned three large port cranes in one of the Turkish seaports.

It will be recalled that the Turkish emergency services found the dry cargo “Batuhan A.”, which was shipwrecked. Crew members are considered missing.

It is reported that 10 km from Imrali Island, the vessel stopped twice – according to AIS signals. There was probably a malfunction in the engine room. The weather was windy, and the height of the waves sometimes reached 3.5 meters. “Batuhan A.” asked for help on February 15 at 06:28. He gave the emergency signal at 06:32.
