About 300 Russian ships began maneuvers in the seas

The Russian Navy, consisting of about 300 ships and 20,000 sailors, has begun maneuvers in the seas.

The Northern, Pacific and Baltic Fleets of the Russian Federation, as well as the Caspian Flotilla, have begun maneuvers, Gospodarka Morska reports.

About 300 ships and 20,000 sailors will take part in the exercises. According to the message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the purpose of the planned exercises is “to practice the work of control bodies in the operational areas of the Northern, Pacific and Baltic Fleets and in the area of responsibility of the Caspian Flotilla.”

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has carried out a number of maneuvers independently or together with the forces of other countries, in particular – China and South Africa. Over the past two months, Russia has conducted a series of exercises using mobile nuclear missile launchers and joint exercises with the forces of Belarus.

Earlier, the USM reported that three Russian ships entered Cuba’s territorial waters, which indicates the strengthening of cooperation between the countries.
