Additional challenge for ports: Defense Intelligence commented on the attack by a Russian naval drone

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense is working on countering Russian naval drones, one of which hit the Ukrainian Navy ship Simferopol.

This was stated by The Defense Intelligence representative Andriy Yusov and the commander of the Defense Intelligence Group13 special unit, Ukrinform writes.

According to him, the Russians are borrowing Ukrainian experience in the production and use of naval drones, are making progress in their use, which is an additional challenge for Ukrainian civilian and port infrastructure.

“We see this and are monitoring it. In this case, the enemy is successful, and we are already working on our future construction and implementation of countermeasures,” Yusov emphasized.

He also added that according to intelligence information, the Russians are not doing well with the development of naval drones.

“They have significant problems that I will not voice. We will work to ensure that this (the attack on Ukrainian ships – ed.) does not happen again,” the military officer noted.

Recall that on August 28, at the mouth of the Danube, the Russians attacked the Ukrainian Navy reconnaissance ship Simferopol. Later, it became known that two servicemen died as a result of the attack.

Earlier, USM reported that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian side has also begun forming units of surface drones.
