Algeria purchased up to 170 thousand tons of Black Sea wheat

Algeria’s state grain agency bought a large batch of wheat in a tender held on February 25.
Algeria’s state agency OAIC purchased 150,000-170,000 tons of wheat, mostly from the Black Sea region, following a tender on February 25, ASAP Agri reported.
The wheat is to be shipped from April to June. It is planned to be delivered to only two small ports, indicating a limited volume of this purchase.
The purchase prices for wheat were $273-274/t C&F. This is $11/t more than in the previous OAIC tender on February 13. Then the North African country purchased at least 330,000 tons of wheat at a price of $262-263/t.
For comparison, prices for Ukrainian food wheat with a protein content of 11.5% increased from $241/t FOB POC on February 14 to $244-248/t FOB POC as of February 25.
The day before, USM wrote that this season, Ukrainian exports of grains and oilseeds reached $11 billion.
