AllSeeds estimates losses due to the conflict with Odesa Port Plant at $1-2 million
The losses of the Allseeds company due to the conflict with Odesa Port Plant in the Port of Pivdennyi amount to $1-2 million.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AllSeeds group, Vyacheslav Petryshche, said this in an interview with Latifundist..
As a reminder, from May 17, 2024, Odesa Port Plant representatives stopped allowing trucks from the Allseeds company to pass through the Port of Pivdennyi, so that the company could ship products at berths leased from USPA.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AllSeeds Group said that the conflict with Odesa Port Plant arose on an equal footing. This happened after the signing of an agreement between Allseeds and USPA on the use of two berths of USPA on the territory of the Southern MTP.
“We loaded one vessel quickly and successfully. And when the second one was loaded, the Odesa Port Plant blocked the passage of our transport, referring to the fact that 50 meters of access roads run through their territory.
We offered the port plant to pay 60-70 cents/ton for passing through the disputed area, but they rejected our offer. For comparison: the fee for using USPA berths — which is a whole structure, a certain set of services, etc. — is 56 cents/ton. For me, this whole situation is nonsense. The contract with USPA, which, by the way, is a state-owned enterprise, continues to apply. Odesa Port Plant, which is also a state-owned enterprise, continues to block access to berths. We issue invoices to the plant,” said V’yacheslav Petryshche.
According to him, $1-2 million are losses for all vessels, the intention of loading which the company declared to Odesa Port Plant.
“The total tonnage is probably already 100-150 thousand tons. We estimate the losses at about $10 per ton. This is the difference between transshipment costs in the Southern port, if we had access to USPA berths, and transshipment costs in other ports. Ultimately, the state will have to pay us this amount. I don’t know if it will happen in a year or two. But I have no doubt that it will be paid to us, because our rights have been violated. In particular, easement. It’s just a shame that the state will have to pay,” explained V’yacheslav Petryshche.
Odesa Port Plant commented on the situation, stating that Allseeds does not want to comply with the requirements for the registration of transport through the territory of the plant, which is a regime enterprise and has significant restrictions on the passage of third-party cargo.
It will be recalled that earlier the head of Allseeds proposed to increase tariffs for USPA moorings by 5-10 times.
