Amendments to export duties on soybeans and rapeseed are planned to be finalized

The Verkhovna Rada may return to review the decision on the “oil amendments” if they are finalized.

This was stated by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Oleksandr Haidu in a comment to Latifundist.

According to him, the main problem is the lack of public discussion of the amendment with the agrarian community.

“The main thing is that this amendment was not discussed with the agrarian community. Secondly, everything was too fast and it did not give an opportunity to understand why it was done. Therefore, in fact, the entire parliament was divided in half,” Oleksandr Haidu explained.

At the same time, the head of the committee is confident that the initiative will get a second life — in a finalized form.

“I believe that we should support the processing industry of our country. If this amendment is written correctly, everyone will support it,” he noted.

In particular, the official confirmed that negotiations are currently underway on an alternative option.

“I think there will be some other model of these norms that will satisfy all participants,” the committee chairman concluded.

Recall that on June 18, the Verkhovna Rada failed to adopt an amendment to introduce a 10% export duty on rapeseed and soybeans – there were not enough votes for its adoption.

Earlier, USM reported that the UGA appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a demand to reject the proposed introduction of export restrictions on oilseed crops.
