An accident occurred in a Russian port: a tanker collided with a dry cargo vessel

Two ships collided in the port of Novorossiysk due to gale force winds.
The accident occurred on the morning of February 21, the Crimean Wind monitoring group reported.
“Due to gale force winds and high waves, the anchor of the tanker Natig Aliyev caught the dry cargo ship Begonia S,” the report said.
The captains of the ships noted that the ships did not suffer significant damage.
According to Russian media, the ships were unable to separate and remained in a collision for several hours. One ship broke away from its anchor and crashed into the other due to bad weather. The tugboat was able to arrive only a few hours later and uncouple them.
As previously reported by USM, the captain of the aircraft carrier USS Truman was released after a collision with a bulk carrier near Egypt.
