An explosion occurred at the base of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation in Severomorsk. Its territory houses command centers and tests of the latest weapons are being conducted.
An explosion occurred near the base of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation in Severomorsk (Murmansk region). This was stated by the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation Andrey Kovalenko.
The direct distance from Severomorsk to Ukraine is about 2,000 km.
This base plays a key role in ensuring Russia’s control over the Arctic routes and access to the Arctic Ocean. Its territory houses command centers, ammunition depots, repair docks and fleet control points.
The latest weapons are also tested there, in particular, the “Tsyrkon” missiles. The base supports both surface ships and nuclear submarines. The ships of the Northern Fleet are equipped with “Kalibr” missiles, which Russia regularly uses to attack the territory of Ukraine.
The details of the incident remain unknown, and official Russian sources have not commented on the situation.
