ARMA found an operator for the arrested tanker “Nika Spirit”

The National Agency for Identification, Search and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) concluded a contract for the management of the arrested vessel “Nika Spirit.”

The document was signed with the winner of the competitive asset selection — PJSC “Kyiv River Port”. According to the terms of the contract, the company will operate the vehicle until 2026, ARMA reported.

“Kyiv River Port” is a specialized enterprise. Among the company’s services are cargo transshipment, customs clearance, transport and forwarding services, sale of river sand and crushed stone, ship repair and passenger transportation.

Last year, ARMA handed over 10 seized sea vessels, which, according to open sources, belong to russian companies, to the management of Ukrainian enterprises.

The “Nika Spirit” tanker under the flag of russian federation arrived in the port of Izmail on July 24, 2019. It was identified as the already known vessel Neyma, which was used to block the Kerch Strait in November 2018. Then the russian border guards seized the Ukrainian warship with 24 crew members at gunpoint.

On July 30, the Primorskyi District Court of Odesa, based on the results of consideration of the relevant petition, seized the tanker along with the documents seized during the search.
