Attacks by the Russian Federation may affect sea exports from Ukraine

Russia’s attacks on infrastructure, in particular port infrastructure, may temporarily reduce Ukrainian grain exports in April from the expected 8 to 5 million tons.

Interfax-Ukraine writes about this with reference to a source in the grain market.

Thus, in the first 10 days of April, Ukraine exported about 2 million tons of grain through its ports.

“This made it possible to hope for a record export of 8 million tons per month. However, the damage is so significant that the delivery of grain, in particular, to the port of Chornomorsk will have to be suspended for a few days,” the interlocutor noted.

At the same time, traders and agricultural holdings whose terminals are located in Chornomorsk port are quickly adapting to the situation and will deliver products for loading onto ships by motor vehicles.

Another source in the market noted that during the shelling of Odesa, the Russians damaged railway access roads to a number of grain terminals located in the port of Chornomorsk.

We will remind you that on April 10, the Russians struck the transport and logistics infrastructure of the Odesa region from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
