Australia sent the first Abrams tank to Ukraine by sea

First, the combat vehicle will head to a logistics base in Poland, from where it will be transferred to the front.
The first of 49 American M1A1 Abrams tanks transferred by Australia as part of military assistance to Ukraine has set off by sea to Europe. Gospodarka Morska writes about this.
The ship, on board of which there is heavy armored vehicles, is heading to a logistics hub in Poland. From there, the tanks will be delivered to the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eastern front.
Australia made the decision to transfer the decommissioned vehicles back in October 2024. These are 49 M1A1 Abrams tanks, which will arrive as part of a defense package worth 245 million Australian dollars. However, due to the requirements of American legislation on arms export control (ITAR), the deliveries were temporarily frozen.
Earlier, Ukraine had already received 31 M1A1 Abrams tanks directly from the United States, the delivery of which was completed in the fall of 2023.
As reported by USM, blades for wind turbines in Ukraine were delivered to the port of Gdansk last month.
