The Ministry of Transport of russian federation offered the government to independently determine the cargo and the cost of freight during their transportation.

Officials propose to add an article to the Merchant Shipping Code that specifies that the transportation of russian goods is carried out by vessels “whose owners are russian persons”, russian mass media reports.

Now the list of cargoes, and even the period during which these cargoes are transported, are proposed to be approved at the level of the government of russian federation. In this case, the shipowners will be able to set the price only at or below the set maximum freight size.

In addition, other vessels will be able to transport certain cargoes only on the basis of permits issued by Rosmorrichflot to shipowners.
