Bangladesh received 3 thousand tons of oil as part of Grain from Ukraine

Ukrainian sunflower oil was delivered to Bangladesh as part of a humanitarian initiative — the Swedish government took on the financing.
Ukraine sent 3,000 tons of sunflower oil to Bangladesh under the Grain from Ukraine program. This was reported by Reliefweb.
The purchase and transportation of the cargo was fully financed by Sweden — a total of $7 million.
Bangladesh’s Ministry of Disaster Management Secretary Mostafizur Rahman thanked Ukraine and Sweden for their support, which is of particular importance for providing food to the Rohingya camps — a Muslim minority facing persecution in Myanmar.
“Your support is of profound importance for responding to the Rohingya problem. It reflects a partnership built on humanity, compassion and shared global responsibility,” Rahman emphasized.
Simone Parchment, Acting Director of the UN World Food Programme in Bangladesh, noted that Ukraine’s contribution to the global humanitarian effort, along with Sweden’s financial support, is a shining example of international solidarity.
“Let this contribution inspire others to take a step forward,” she concluded.
USM previously wrote that the Grain From Ukraine humanitarian initiative will transition to a new format.
