Bessent: If the war ends, the US may lift sanctions against Russian oil

The United States may lift sanctions on Russian oil in the event of a “peaceful settlement” of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant said this in an interview with Fox News.
“As for peace agreements, we could see a significant decrease in oil prices,” he commented.
Bessant explained that if a settlement is reached in Venezuela, Iran, and between Russia and Ukraine, the Treasury Department “will lift sanctions on them and a lot of oil will be able to enter the markets.”
USM previously reported that the EU may impose sanctions on ports in Georgia and Indonesia for processing Russian oil.
