Bloomberg: Drone attack paralyzes oil shipments at key Russian ports

CPC terminals and a transfer complex in Novorossiysk have stopped loading oil after an attack by Ukrainian drones.

Both facilities are key export channels for Russian and Kazakh oil, shipping more than 2 million barrels per day, Bloomberg writes.

We are talking about the Russian terminals of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and the Sheskharis transfer complex in Novorossiysk.

During the attack by Ukrainian drones, the CPC office was damaged, evacuations were carried out from the beaches in Sochi, and the port in Tuapse was attacked.

“Despite official assurances that “there is no serious damage to the infrastructure,” the stoppage of shipments indicates the vulnerability of Russian oil logistics. Since July, Ukraine has been consistently increasing attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, forcing Moscow to reduce sea supplies,” the material notes.

In particular, oil and gas account for up to half of the Russian federal budget revenues, and disruptions in exports directly undermine the financing of the Kremlin’s military spending.

Recall that on September 24, drones attacked the Russian Black Sea Fleet base in Novorossiysk.
