British intelligence: Russians try to disguise ships
Russians draw silhouettes of warships on the piers, probably to confuse Ukrainian UAV operators.
The Russian army pays great attention to the camouflage of military equipment to protect it and hide their operational intentions, but this does not help to reduce the level of losses, reports the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain with reference to intelligence data.
“In the maritime sphere, the ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation have black paint on the bow and stern, which is probably intended to make their warships less visible targets. The silhouettes of invaders ships are also painted on the piers, probably in order to confuse the Ukrainian operators of unmanned aerial vehicles,” reports British intelligence.
In this way, the Russian Federation seeks to reduce the losses of the Black Sea Fleet over the past two years.
“Despite these attempts at camouflage, Russian ships are still vulnerable during operations in the Black Sea. It is unlikely that the use of masking methods will lead to a significant reduction in losses,” the report says.
It will be recalled that the Russian Navy resorted to limiting its operations in the eastern part of the Black Sea, as its losses are increasing.
