Bulgaria may cancel the ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine
The Bulgarian Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy and Innovation has approved a draft decision on the lifting of the “embargo” on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
Bulgaria plans to lift the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products after September 15, Forbes Bulgaria reports.
The draft states that Bulgaria does not support the extension after September 15 of the ban on the import of wheat, corn, rape and sunflower seeds from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. The Council of Ministers was instructed to take the necessary measures to express this position.
Ten members of the committee voted “for” the draft decision, four were “against”, two abstained. The final decision will be taken at the plenary session.
Previously, USM reported that Poland plans to extend the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain regardless of the decision of the European Commission.
In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the decision to extend the ban violates the rules of the EU common market.
