Camouflage nets and new cameras: Russians tighten security at fleet support base in Novorossiysk

The partisan movement “ATESH” reports a sharp increase in camouflage and control at one of the key logistics hubs of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

After the successful strikes by the Defense Forces on the Black Sea Fleet facilities in Novorossiysk, the command of the base of the 61st support vessel detachment (military unit 26968) went into emergency security mode. This was reported by “ATESH”.

The partisans recorded a continuous covering of the perimeter of the facility with camouflage nets to hide the work of loading and moving resources, as well as the installation of new video surveillance systems around the entire perimeter.

Despite attempts to create an information vacuum, according to the movement, anomalous transport activity is observed on the surrounding streets. The intensive movement of military trucks and special equipment causes traffic jams, and civilian transport is forced to bypass the area.

ATESH claims that it continues to record each arrival/departure and has transferred data on traffic schedules and updated security measures to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The movement also calls on unit employees and truck drivers to report information about the contents of the cargo and the final destinations of the routes, promising anonymity and a reward.

USM previously wrote that the attack on the submarine in Novorossiysk showed the vulnerability of Russian ports to underwater attacks.
