Canada may invest in Ukrainian ports and shipbuilding
Canadian business is considering investment opportunities in the Ukrainian transport industry. In particular, it is about ports and shipbuilding.
The team of the Ministry of Reconstruction met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Natalka Tsmots, the Ministry of Reconstruction reported.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the main priorities for the recovery and development of the transport industry of Ukraine and the attraction of private capital.
Thus, the transport sector remains one of the most attractive for investment, even despite the war. The focus of attention is on increasing the export capacity of land and waterways, both in the long-term and in the short-term perspective, noted Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov.
In addition, on the initiative of the Ministry, a special Business Advisory Group was created and is functioning, which promotes the coordination of international and Ukrainian business with state structures.
Today, among the main areas for investment in the transport sector, Canada is considering:
• railway transportation, in particular multimodal;
• modernization of Ukrainian Black Sea ports;
• development of ground border crossing points;
• assistance in rapid recovery of civil aviation;
• shipbuilding.
Previously, USM reported that the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine is changing the rules for sealing wagons and containers.
