Cargill “cuts off” ties with Russia

The American food company Cargill sold a quarter of the shares of the terminal in Russia.

The food giant Cargill sold 25% of the shares of the grain terminal in Novorossiysk. The assets will be transferred to the local company Delo Group, according to Bloomberg.

Currently, the documents related to the agreement are being considered by the government commission for monitoring foreign investments. The review is expected to last no more than a month.

We will remind you that the company has stopped purchases for the export of grain in Russia since July 2023. International food companies Viterra and Louis Dreyfus have also left the Russian grain export market since July. The outflow of foreign capital from Russia is related to the fact that Kremlin officials have called for limiting foreign influence on the grain trade.
