Cargo turnover of ports of the Russian Federation decreased by almost 7%

Volumes of cargo transshipment through Russian ports decreased to 71 million tons in January.

Cargo turnover of Russian seaports in January decreased by 6.2% compared to the same period last year. This was reported in Rosmorrechflot.

Thus, transshipment of dry cargo decreased by 5.8% — to 32.8 million tons; transshipment of bulk cargoes fell by 6.5% to 38.2 million tons.

The cargo turnover of the sea ports of the Azov-Black Sea basin, including in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, decreased by 7.1% to 24 million tons. At the same time, transshipment of dry cargo decreased by 13.8% to 10.6 million tons.

We will remind, as a result of the fire at the oil refinery in the port of Tuapse, the enterprise completely stopped the processing of raw materials. Thus, export volumes fell to 0.42 million metric tons, compared to 1.09 million tons planned for January.

The cargo turnover of the ports of the Arctic Basin showed a reduction of 5.4% to 7.8 million tons. Transshipment volumes in Russian ports of the Baltic basin decreased by 4.3% to 21.6 million tons. Cargo turnover of Far Eastern ports decreased by 9.1% to 16.9 million tons.

Only the cargo turnover of the ports of the Caspian Basin showed an increase – by 1.6 times – in particular, thanks to trade with Iran in grain and weapons.

Previously, USM wrote that the Russians are disguising Iranian Shahed-136 UAVs  in documentation as motor boats in order to circumvent sanctions. The weapons were illegally purchased through the front company of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Sahara Thunder.
