China and russian federation conduct joint naval exercises


From December 21 to 27, China and russia are conducting joint naval exercises.

The joint naval exercises, held annually since 2012, will include missile and artillery fire in the East China Sea, Reuters writes.

“The main goal of the exercises is to strengthen naval cooperation between russia and China, to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region,” the publication of the Ministry of Defense of russian federation quotes.

Four russian ships will take part in the exercises, including the Varyag missile cruiser. The Chinese side will send six of its ships to the exercises.
