China does not allow an old oil tanker from the Russian Federation to enter its port

China’s Qingdao port has stepped up inspections of old tankers. Because of this, two vessels, but one of which has Russian oil, have not been able to enter the port for a month.

We are talking about the Titan supertanker and another old tanker that carries Russian oil — the Ocean Peri, writes Bloomberg. The tankers were detained when they arrived at the port of Qingdao. It is reported that the cause was problems with fire safety. including oil accumulation in the engine room.

The Titan subsequently left Qingdao, but it is not known if the tanker has discharged its cargo. Ocean Peri with Rosneft is still not far from the port.

The publication notes that the local maritime authorities are currently carrying out enhanced security checks on foreign vessels that are over 15 years old.
