China will increase imports of Ukrainian grain after Kuleba’s visit
China will continue to increase the volume of imports of agricultural products from Ukraine and maintain uninterrupted logistics channels.
According to the results of the meeting of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, the countries agreed to increase bilateral trade. This is stated in the press release of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“Ukraine is one of the first countries that supported and took part in the joint construction of the Belt and Road.” In recent years, China has been the largest trading partner of Ukraine and the largest exporter of agricultural products,” the message states.
In the first half of 2024, the volume of bilateral trade showed rapid growth, demonstrating “the potential for cooperation between the two countries.”
According to Wang Yi, the People’s Republic of China will continue to increase grain imports from Ukraine. The country will also support the continuity of Ukraine’s logistics channels for the sake of global food security.
As previously reported by USM, the State Production and Consumer Service extended the deadline for registration of grain exporters to China to two months.
