Chinese companies have contracted almost 700 thousand tons of Ukrainian barley

Chinese companies have signed contracts to buy almost 700,000 tons of Ukrainian barley in 2025.
This has fueled high demand, which has pushed prices up by as much as $8/ton this week alone, Latifundist writes.
China is currently willing to pay $240/ton for Ukrainian barley, including cost, insurance and freight (CIF), which is equivalent to $203 FOB Odesa and $193 CPT,” says a report by analyst Barva Invest.
According to market estimates, 8-12 Panamax vessels were sold. This means that China alone purchased from 500,000 to 700,000 tons of Ukrainian barley.
Earlier, USM reported that businesses from the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions are suspected of fraud with agricultural exports worth almost UAH 500 million.
