Cocaine was transported through the Odesa port: law enforcement officers exposed drug dealers
Through the Odesa seaport, drug dealers brought large consignments of cocaine from Ecuador to Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers neutralized the channel for importing cocaine from Ecuador into Ukraine and detained a former law enforcement officer for selling more than 3 kg of the drug worth $135,000, the SBI reported.
The investigation established that the law enforcement officer was part of an organized criminal group that transported cocaine from Latin America through European countries to Ukraine. The group also included officials of customs authorities and citizens of some EU countries.
The drug was sold on the territory of different regions of Ukraine in groups, from 1 kg. They charged $45,000 per kilogram.
Before the start of the full-scale war, drug dealers imported large quantities of cocaine into Ukraine through the sea trade port of Odessa. Cocaine was hidden in a specially equipped hiding place in one of the containers.
However, due to military operations, the supply channel ceased to exist, so drug dealers created a new way to supply drugs through the land border with Poland in the Lviv region.
Currently, searches are being conducted at places of possible storage of drugs, persons involved in the commission of a crime, etc.
