Container service was opened in Izmail port
Izmail became the second port in Ukraine to open for container shipments after the full-scale invasion.
Container feeder T-Moon made its first flight to Izmail port. The ship will constantly ply between Izmail, Reni and Romanian Constanta. The feeder will enter each port approximately once a week, port operator Iteris said on its Facebook page.
Container transportation is carried out in transshipment mode. Therefore, container owners will not have to issue transit customs documents at the port of Constanta.
In the Romanian port, containers are serviced by Arkas, ZIM, Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd and SMA lines.
T-Moon is a Panamanian-flagged container feeder. The gross capacity of the vessel is 2988 registered tons. The deadweight of the container ship is 5,788 tons. The vessel’s operator is the Ukrainian company Iteris.
It will be recalled that in November of last year, the container terminal became operational in the port of Reni. Only in the first month of operation at the terminal, about 1,500 containers were processed.
