Container ship comes under drone attack after leaving Novorossiysk


Shortly after leaving the port of Novorossiysk (Russia), the container ship Aurelia was attacked by a drone.

The incident occurred when the ship was approximately 80-90 nautical miles offshore, shortly after departing the port of Novorossiysk, MarineTraffic reports.

There were 16 crew members on board, none of whom were injured. Several containers on board were damaged during the attack.

After the incident, the container ship continued its voyage and arrived at the port of Samsun (Turkey) on January 18 at approximately 14:30 local time. The damaged containers have been removed, and the ship is currently being inspected to assess the full extent of the damage.
