Customs officials of “Odesa-port” and “Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi” were exposed for bribery
Officials of the customs posts “Odesa-port” and “Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi” established a corrupt scheme of receiving money from volunteers.
The chief state inspector of the “Odesa-port” customs post was detained for handing over another sum of bribes, the Security Service of Ukraine reports.
An official of the customs post “Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky” is also involved in the corruption scheme.
The chief inspector of the customs clearance department in Odesa demanded money from the representative of the charitable foundation. For $1,200, he promised to influence a colleague from another post so that he would not create obstacles during the registration of humanitarian cargo for Ukrainian defenders.
“For each car with cargo, the customs officer demanded from 500 to 700 dollars. In addition, the representative of the fund should have informed him in advance about the travel time and the composition of the cargo,” said the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
So far, the inspector of the “Odesa-port” customs post has been informed about the suspicion. The issue of holding other employees accountable is being resolved.
