Defense forces hit oil terminals in the ports of Kerch and Kavkaz

Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian port oil infrastructure in the Krasnodar Territory and temporarily occupied Crimea.
The facilities in the port of Kavkaz and the oil depot in the port of Kerch, which were used for transshipment of oil products and provision of maritime logistics for the occupiers, were hit, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Forces of Unmanned Systems, the Ministry of Defense’s General Directorate of Military Operations, and the Special Operations Forces, struck Russian maritime, fuel, and military facilities. During the operation, Ukrainian drones hit the infrastructure of the seaport of Kavkaz in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the tank farm of the oil product transshipment complex and the territory of the oil depot caught fire there.
Separately, the Special Operations Forces reported the destruction of the oil terminal in the port of Kerch. According to the military, the oil depot played an important role in the logistics system of oil products, ensuring the reception, storage and transshipment between the railway, tanks and tankers.
In addition, the terminal was used for refueling ships and operating a ferry between Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea. After the defeat, numerous fires and burns were recorded on the territory of the port terminal.
The strikes on facilities in Kerch and the Kavkaz port were part of a broader operation on targets near the Crimean bridge and in the occupied Crimea. According to preliminary data, military logistics facilities, radar stations from the S-400 air defense system and Pantsir complexes were also hit.
The Kavkaz port and the port infrastructure of Kerch are important for Russian logistics in the Black Sea-Azov region. Through these facilities, the Russian Federation ensures fuel transshipment, maritime transport operations, and communication with occupied Crimea.USM previously reported that Russian attacks caused over $1.5 billion in damage to Ukrainian ports.
