Defense Intelligence first demonstrated the use of FPV drones in the open sea

The scouts demonstrated a new tactic of defeating the enemy from boats, destroying the equipment and personnel of the invaders.
The Raven Group unit from the “Timur Special Unit” showed the use of FPV drones in the open sea during an operation near Crimea. Archive footage of this combat operation, which took place on September 11, 2024, was released today by the Defense Intelligence press service.
According to military intelligence, during the raid, the fighters launched FPV drones directly from boats, which made it possible to effectively hit the enemy’s firepower on the Petro Godovanets gas production platform in the Black Sea. As a result of the attack, the occupiers suffered losses in manpower and equipment.
The Defense Intelligence emphasizes that this episode was the first recorded case of the use of FPV drones by Ukrainian special forces in naval operations.
The Defense Intelligence also previously presented a documentary about naval operations at Zmiyinyi and the “Boyko towers.”
