During the two years of combat use of various modifications of the Magura drone, the fighters hit 17 Russian naval and air targets.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
On Wednesday, May 14, in Kyiv, the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov, with a team of special service specialists, publicly presented a series of Magura naval strike drones for the first time:
• the famous “killer” of ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Magura V5;
• the multifunctional platform Magura V6P;
• the Magura V7 missile-carrying drone, which for the first time in history destroyed an enemy combat aircraft;
• the Magura V7 model, equipped with a combat machine gun module.
“Magura naval drones are the latest technological weapons, thanks to which the fighters of the GUR Group 13 special forces unit managed to turn the situation in the Black Sea in favor of Ukraine,” the Defense Intelligence noted.
Over two years of combat use of various modifications of the Magura drone, the masters of military intelligence have completely destroyed 15 sea and air targets of the aggressor state, including two enemy Mi-8 helicopters, two Su-30 fighters, large ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet “Sergey Kotov, “Ivanovets”, “Tsesar Kunikov” and other vessels.
The damage inflicted on the enemy is estimated at over half a billion dollars.
“We can confidently say that the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Group 13, have pushed the Russian Black Sea Fleet to their bases. They are constrained in their actions, they do not perform any tasks as intended. And on December 31, 2024, I believe, a turning point in the history of the fleet occurred – two Russian Mi-8 helicopters were destroyed, one was damaged. Also, as you know, we destroyed two aircraft,” said the commander of Group 13 with the call sign “Thirteenth”.
Recall that on December 31, 2024, Defense Intelligence soldiers destroyed an air target for the first time in the world with a naval drone.
