Defense Intelligence special forces received training on high-speed combat boats (video)
Special forces of the Ukrainian Navy’s Military District have completed a course in the management of high-speed combat boats and ships at the Skipper School.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
As part of the first set, 30 qualified skippers were trained, among them soldiers of the Ukrainian Navy’s Military District. Foreign instructors were involved in the training of the cadets, and the program was also adapted to the needs of the Ukrainian military.
“This experience allowed us to qualitatively prepare people literally from scratch to the basic level of performing tasks on the water in a very short period of time. These tasks are incredibly complex, especially in the Black Sea. I hope that the courses will be expanded in the future,” said one of the graduates of the Skipper School.
The training consists of 30 hours of theoretical classes and more than 50 hours of practice, including about 10 hours spent at the helm of a boat as a chief skipper-captain.
As part of the training, cadets master the skills of radio communication, navigation, work in difficult weather conditions, emergency maneuvering, countering drones, evacuating the wounded, and towing a malfunctioning vessel. The department also recalled that in October 2024, special forces of the Defense Intelligence of the MoD of Ukraine received Swedish-made Combat Boat-90 armored landing and assault ships from the Steel Front.
