Delay in sale of Medvedchuk’s yacht threatens losses for Ukraine’s budget

ARMA Head Olena Duma expressed concern about the possible blocking of the sale of the arrested yacht of the traitor to Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk.

The blocked process of selling the arrested yacht of oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk Royal Romance threatens with losses of revenues to the state budget. This was stated by ARMA Head Olena Duma.

Thus, since September 2024, ARMA has repeatedly sent requests to begin legalizing the decision to arrest the yacht and its further sale. However, the procedure has never been initiated, and the Ukrainian side has still not received an official explanation of the reasons for the delay.

“For 8 months in a row, we have not received an answer as to why the procedure for legalizing the decision of the Ukrainian court in Croatia on the sale of Putin’s “best men’s” expensive yacht has not been initiated,” the official stressed.

In addition, the agency emphasizes that blocking the sale of the yacht through the sanctions mechanism could lead to the division of the funds received between Ukraine and Croatia, while the sale through ARMA would allow the entire amount to be directed to the state budget of Ukraine. According to current procedures, the mechanism for selling assets abroad is within the exclusive competence of ARMA and has already been agreed upon by all responsible parties.

Olena Duma also drew attention to the decision of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, which prohibits the sale of certain arrested assets. This creates a precedent and may complicate the sale of other assets under the agency’s management.

However, the High Anti-Corruption Court recently allowed ARMA to appeal the ban on the sale of Medvedchuk’s assets in the Supreme Court.

“ARMA has already found such foreign assets abroad for 100 billion US dollars. And today we have processes of legalization of similar decisions in other countries,” the head of ARMA emphasized.

At the same time, the agency emphasized that international auction houses remain interested in selling Medvedchuk’s yacht, and after the legalization procedure is completed, the agency is ready to begin the process of selling the asset.
