Denmark has banned Russian vessels from entering ports
The ban was introduced after the EU introduced the 14th package of sanctions against Russia, which, in particular, concerns 27 Russian vessels.
The Danish authorities have banned 27 ships associated with the Russian Federation from entering ports and anchoring in the country. This is reporetd by Splash.
Also, ships of the aggressor country were prohibited from providing bunkering services and selling supplies.
Captains of Danish ports have been warned that ships of the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation may change their names, so they must constantly check the unique identifiers of the ship (IMO numbers).
It will be recalled that Russia sends about a third of its sea oil exports through the Danish Straits. Almost one in three of these vessels has unknown insurance.
Previously, vessels of the Russian “shadow fleet” regularly stopped at an anchorage near Skagen. There, the sanctioned vessels replenished supplies and provisions, as well as refueled with oil before moving on.
As USM previously wrote, the Danish government has been discussing with its neighbors ways to prevent the Russian “shadow fleet” from passing through the Baltic Sea for several months.
