Departure permits for seamen: the algorithm is already working

Ukrainian seamen must obtain departure permits from territorial manning centers. For this, an algorithm for obtaining the document was developed.

The algorithm for obtaining a permit for the departure of Ukrainian sailors was approved by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Gruzevych. The document was published on the Ukrainian Seafarers Union Facebook page.

To obtain a permit, you must arrive at the recruitment center (where you are on military registration) and provide certain documents.

Cadets of educational institutions must provide:

— application for obtaining a permit (optional form);

— relevant military registration document;

— seafarer’s identity card;

— a certificate from the educational institution regarding sending the cadet to practice on ships under the Ukrainian or foreign flag.

Seafarers going to work on ships will have to present:

— application for obtaining a permit (optional form);

— relevant military registration document;

— seafarer’s identity card;

— employment contract (contract) for work on a sea vessel, inland navigation vessel. Or a letter from the ship owner, ship operator about the intention to conclude a contract for work on a seagoing vessel, an inland waterway vessel or a vessel role (crew list).

After that, the head of the picking center makes a decision and gives permission within one working day.

It will be recalled that at the beginning of September, the Cabinet of Ministers changed the conditions of departure for sailors, allowing men aged 18 to 60 to cross the border if they are on their way to work. However, territorial procurement centers did not issue permits because they themselves did not receive a clear algorithm from the General Staff.

As previously reported by USM, more than 5 thousand Ukrainain sailors have already received depatrure documents from the Shipping Administration.
