Deputies ask USPA to cancel double port fees for the passage of vessels through Izmail to the port of Reni

Deputies of the Reniysk City Council ask to cancel double port dues for the passage of vessels through the waters of the Izmail port to Reni.
The deputies appealed to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, as well as to the heads of the Izmail military administration and the district council, the “Reni-Odesa” reports.
According to them, due to changes to the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolutions of 11.11.2022 regarding the boundaries of the water areas of sea ports, the Reniysk branch found itself in a losing situation, because now for each transit of a vessel through the waters of the Izmail port to the destination port of Reni, the shipowner must pay ship dues twice.
Also, during cargo operations with dangerous goods, the emergency rescue vessel “Smelivy” is on duty in Reni, the maintenance of which requires additional costs that are included in port dues. Meanwhile, such a duty is not provided for in Izmail.
In addition, there is no direct railway connection to the port of Reni. The track passes through the territory of Moldova, which automatically increases the cost of cargo delivery.
Thus, the difference in the cost of port dues between the call of a vessel in Reni and Izmail reaches $10 thousand for each vessel.
The deputies ask the State Administrative Service “USPA” to cancel double port dues for the passage of vessels through the water area of the Izmail port to Reni, and also to oblige the neighboring port to also maintain a rescue vessel.
Earlier, USM reported that it is planned to create a single administration for Ukrainian ports on the Danube.
