Deputy of the ex-minister Pyvovarskyi was given bail in the amount of UAH 4 million

The High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure against the former First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pivovarskyi.

On April 4, the court chose a preventive measure against Volodymyr Shulmeister, the former First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine. He and ex-minister Andrii Pivovarskyi are suspected of abuse of power and official position, which, according to SAP, caused more than $30 million in losses to the state.

The court partially granted the request and imposed a preventive measure on Shulmeister in the form of bail in the amount of 4 million hryvnias.

The suspect is obliged to deposit funds into the appropriate account of the High Anti-Corruption Court no later than 5 days from the day of the selection of the preventive measure.

The suspect was also charged with:

• arrive at the first request to the detective, the prosecutor and the court;

• notify the detective, prosecutor or the court about a change of place of residence and work, travel abroad;

• refrain from communicating with other suspects in the case and witnesses.

The decision can be appealed to the Chamber of Appeals of VAX within 5 days from the day of its announcement.

Earlier, ex-minister of infrastructure Andriy Pyvovarskyi reported that a deposit of almost 10 million hryvnias was made for him. The court confirmed the receipt of bail funds.

We will remind, according to the investigation data, in July 2015, the then minister together with his deputy (at that time also the head of the Tariff Council of the Ministry of Infrastructure) ensured the adoption of an order, according to which the shipping fee from ships in the “Southern” seaport together with the State Enterprise “AMPU” began to be collected and private companies (in a 50/50 ratio). Whereas, according to the law, the collection of such a fee is the exclusive prerogative of a state-owned enterprise as a user of the water area of the port, which belongs to the state.

Ex-minister Pivovarskyi commented on the situation and explained why he considers the accusations unfounded.
