Despite embargo: tanker with Russian oil enters Italian port

Libyan tanker with Russian oil arrived from the port of Ust-Luga to the port of Milazzo (Sicily).

The violation of the EU embargo on the import of Russian crude oil was reported by the head of the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies, Andriy Klymenko.

Thus, on June 17, the Libyan tanker Alyarmouk (IMO:9356438) under the flag of the EU country Malta arrived directly from the Russian port of Ust-Luga to the Italian port of Milazzo (Sicily).

In particular, it is known that the vessel of the state-owned company General National Maritime Transport Co (GNMTC) left the Russian port on June 2.

“The tanker’s carrying capacity is 116,038 deadweight tons, that is, it brought 100 thousand tons of Russian oil. This Sicilian port is very popular with embargo violators,” the expert emphasized.

As previously reported by USM, Russia is illegally transshipping oil in the high seas near Greece.
