Director of agricultural company from Odesa region reimbursed UAH 118 million in tax fraud case

Prosecutors have completed an investigation into intentional tax evasion.
The financial director of an agricultural company from the Odesa region will be tried for tax evasion in particularly large amounts. This was reported on the website of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation established that in the first half of 2024, the company exported 56 thousand tons of wheat and soybeans to Egypt and Turkey through one of the seaports of the Odessa region. However, the financial director deliberately did not include part of the profit from the sale of products in the tax reporting.
The actual sales volumes and income of the company significantly exceeded the declared ones, which caused the state budget to underpay more than UAH 118 million in taxes. During the pre-trial investigation, which was carried out by the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in the Odesa region, the accused compensated for the entire amount of losses. The indictment was sent to court.
USM also wrote that the company director will be tried in the Odesa region for fraud with a soybean cargo worth over UAH 5 million. To hide the theft, he added over 300 tons of sand, similar in appearance to soybeans, to the remains.
