DP World was included in the list of international sponsors of the war
National Agency on corruption prevention included the port operator Dubai Port World in the list of international sponsors of the war through cooperation with the Russian Federation. It is worth noting that in 2020 DP World acquired 51% of the TIS container terminal in the Port of Pivdennyi.
“The reason for this decision is that the company from the United Arab Emirates not only does not stop doing business with the Russian Federation, but also strengthens cooperation with the aggressor. In particular, last month DP World signed an agreement with the Russian state corporation “Rosatom” regarding the development of the Northern Sea Route,” the National Agency on corruption prevention noted.
According to the department, the length of the Northern Sea Route will be more than 5.6 thousand km, from Murmansk to Vladivostok, along the coast of the seas and the Arctic and Pacific oceans.
“After signing the agreement with Rosatom, the head of the government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, said that the development of the Northern Sea Route is a strategic project that will bring about 20 trillion rubles (224 billion USD) to the Russian budget. Thus, the official of the Russian Federation directly confirms the benefit of the terrorist state from cooperation with DP World. These additional funds will be used by Russia, including to finance the war against Ukraine,” National Agency on corruption preventionstressed.
The agency added that the cooperation between Rosatom and DP World will facilitate the transit of goods to Russia to circumvent sanctions. In addition, other illegal goods and weapons can be transported through the Northern Sea Route.
National Agency on corruption prevention also reminded that in 2020 the company acquired 51% of the TIS container terminal in the South Port, thanks to which it “has sufficient information about the state of the maritime transportation industry in Ukraine due to Russian aggression.” In addition, DP World transships Ukrainian grain, including within the grain corridor.
