Drone attack on Danube ports: Ukraine’s allies commented on Russian terrorism
On July 24, the Russians attacked the port of Reni on the Danube (Odesa Region) with the help of Iranian kamikaze drones. The world commented on the terrorist attack.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis spoke on Twitter at 12:12 p.m. He condemned Russia’s attack on port infrastructure on the Danube.
“I strongly condemn the recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure on the Danube, very close to Romania. This recent escalation poses serious security risks in the Black Sea. It also affects the further transit of grain through Ukraine, and therefore global food security,” he wrote on Twitter.
At 12:44, Iohannis was joined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova. They emphasized the significant risks for Ukrainian exports and food security in the world.
“Moldova condemns the recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian civil infrastructure along the Danube, located near the border with Romania. This brutal attack creates significant risks for Ukrainian grain exports and regional and global food security,” the agency commented.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis, wrote a post at 16:22. He called on the partners to redouble their efforts to help Ukraine in the war against the Russian Federation.
“After the Vilnius NATO summit, Putin feels the urge to escalate, withdrawing from the Grain Agreement, attacking Odesa, and now the Danube port. We must make sure that our determination to help Ukraine achieve victory and NATO membership is better understood. Time to redouble our efforts.”
At 5:11 p.m., the US ambassador to Kyiv, Bridget Brink, commented on the Russian attack on the port infrastructure of Ukraine. She noted that Russia has once again escalated its war “against Ukrainians, their livelihoods and global food security.”
She added that while Russia is once again striking Ukraine’s ports and grain warehouses, the United States will “continue to support Ukraine in exporting food to those who need it.”
We will remind you that on the night of July 24, the Russians once again attacked the port infrastructure of Odesa Region. This time the port of Reni was affected. As a result of the attack, three grain warehouses were destroyed. The blast wave damaged the windows of buildings and structures at the enterprise.
